Labor will Build Next Stage of Wyndham Ring Road

The Albanese Labor Government will build a new bridge over the Werribee River to cut congestion and improve safety in Melbourne’s growing west.

We’re contributing $85 million to deliver the Wyndham Ring Road upgrade, which expands on current work underway on the Ison Road Overpass by building a new bridge over the Werribee River to connect Armstrong and Hobbs Road in Wyndham Vale to Sayers Road in Tarneit.

This funding will also include planning work to investigate the design and cost of upgrades to the intersection of Ballan Road and Armstrong Road, Wyndham Vale, and Ballan Road bridge over the railway line – creating a direct road link from Tarneit to Wyndham Vale and Manor Lakes.

This work will future-proof the road network in one of the fastest growing areas in the country, reducing congestion through the city of Wyndham, and improving access to the Princes Highway as well as the employment precincts of Truganina and Laverton North.

The project is part of the Albanese and Allan Labor Governments’ joint $1.2 billion Road Blitz, with the Australian Government contributing $1 billion and the State Government contributing $200 million. The $1 billion investment is a decision of government reflected in the 2025-26 Budget.

This funding follows the Victorian Government’s existing near billion-dollar road blitz across the state.

Peter Dutton’s Liberals have proven time and time again that they’re not willing to invest in the critical infrastructure Victorian communities need and give our state its fair share.

Only a Labor Government will deliver for Victoria.
