Volunteers are the backbone of our diverse and vibrant community and are celebrated in many forums across any given year.

I hold my 'Lalor Heroes' volunteer awards every year to recognise these exceptional efforts by members of our community.

There are three categories for the awards:

• School volunteers
• Sport volunteers
• Community volunteers

School volunteers

The School ‘Lalor Heroes’ will be awarded their certificates of appreciation at a school event towards the end of the year.

These awards are dedicated to a volunteer in the school community and will be  considered in consultation with local school principals and committees.

Please contact your local school if you know of a great volunteer to nominate for a Lalor Heroes award.

Sport volunteers

The Sport ‘Lalor Heroes’ will be invited to attend a presentation event later this year. These awards are presented to volunteers in local sporting clubs, whose efforts which enrich our community.

I invite members of the community to nominate a local volunteer involved with your sporting club or group.

Community volunteers

The Community ‘Lalor Heroes’ will be invited to attend a presentation event later this year.

These awards are presented to volunteers in local community groups whose commitment and dedication enhances our community.
