Joanne Ryan appointed to parliamentary positions

Member for Lalor, Joanne Ryan said she was privileged to have been appointed as Opposition Deputy Whip and Opposition Deputy Chair of Caucus.

“It is a great honour to serve the Australian Labor Party in these positions and to be able to play a greater role in the life of this Parliament,” Ms Ryan said.

“These roles will give me a unique chance to learn more about our Parliamentary system and engage with a broader spectrum of stakeholders.”

“In doing so, I can better represent and advocate for the issues that matter to our community.”

The positions, voted on by the Parliamentary Party, were announced this week during Labor’s Caucus meeting.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues to protect the important reforms of the previous Labor governments and to ensure the Abbott Government is held to account,” she said.
